Develop soft skills: Delhi Police Commissioner to new joinees

Develop "soft skills" so as to effectively meet responsibilities towards children, women, senior citizens, disillusioned youth and other needy people.
This was the advice of Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar to 11 probationary officers, including a woman, of the rank of Assistant Commissioners who were inducted into the force today.
In his address, Kumar asked them to be "true professionals" and encouraged them to come forward and accept the challenges of policing the capital in a better way.
He emphasised on the need to be equipped with appropriate aids to keep pace with the ever changing crime trends and patterns.

Apart from functional knowledge, he emphasised on the importance of "soft skills" to effectively meet responsibilities towards children, women, senior citizens, disillusioned youths and other needy.
"You should understand that you will be under close scrutiny of people, force and media. Do your work with dedication and sense of involvement," he told the new officers.

Among the 11 new inductees, one holds an M Tech degree, while three are B Tech holders. One of the officers have a masters in law while another is a post graduate in science. There are two with MA degrees and one MBA.
Three each are from Haryana and UP while one each are from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Delhi.

The new inductees were provided e-training modules to impart comprehensive knowledge on investigation of burglary, hurt, accident, rape and murder cases.
Case studies and simulated crime scenes were used for better appreciation of investigation besides a one month commando training, a senior official said.
