Delhi Lt Governor (L-G) Anil Baijal today directed municipal corporations to develop vertical gardens at flyovers here.
The L-G also directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to take up a massive plantation exercise, a move intended towards achieving a "Green Delhi".
In a meeting with officials concerned, Baijal also stressed that vacant "gram sabha lands" be developed as parks.
"The L-G directed MCDs to build vertical gardens at flyovers, to be watered with non-potable water only.
"He also directed DDA to take up a massive plantation exercise," the L-G office said in a statement.
It also stated that Open Defecation Free (ODF) Delhi must remain the "top focus" and it should be completed by June 30, 2018.
