The 90-year-old thespian was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on September 15 after he complained of uneasiness. According to doctors, he had suffered a heart attack.
The veteran actor had been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.
"He is much better (now) and hence we have decided to take him home. He is recovering quite well... He is having food on his own. He will be discharged tomorrow," sources close to the actor told PTI.
The veteran actor has given memorable performances in films like 'Mughal-e-Azam', 'Madhumati', 'Devdas' and 'Ganga Jamuna', 'Kranti', 'Karma'.
The actor was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994.
