The girl, who consumed excess medicines after she learnt that her marks had reduced following re-evaluation of her answer sheets by an order of the High Court, has survived and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital here, the police said.
The girl is the second CBSE student who has tried to commit suicide. Earlier, a boy had attempted self-immolation on June 6 over alleged discrepancies in publication of CBSE results on May 28.
The CBSE regional office here had yesterday mailed the re-evaluated marks to 18 students who had earlier moved the High Court seeking re-evaluation of their answer copies.
Meanwhile, Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) chairperson Kasturi Mohapatra today served a show cause notice to CBSE on the discrepancies in results based on the petition filed by some students and parents' association.
