Bhal Singh, a native of Gurgaon and working as an engineer in a private company in Noida, did not have cordial relations with his wife Sunita and the couple used to quarrel frequently, Indirapuram SHO Gorakh Nath Yadav said.
The two were married for 15 years, he said.
Last night a heated argument ensued between the two at their house in Sector 17 following which Sunita consumed phenyl at around 2.30 AM. Bhal intervened and helped her vomit it out and then retired to his room, Yadav said.
Police reached the spot after receiving information and sent the body for post mortem while Sunita, who suffers from depression, was in a subconscious state and admitted to a nearby private hospital, he said.
