Deputy Magistrate of Chapai Nawabgunj district in Bangladesh Jahangir Kabir said that the meeting, held at Uttarkanya, the North Bengal secretariat, discussed at length several mutual issues.
"Curbing cross-border militancy, human trafficking and exchange of prisoners figured prominently in the 18-point agenda set for the meeting. We are looking forward to a positive outcome of the meeting," said Kabir.
Official sources at Uttarkanya said the issue of setting up of an immigration centre at Fulbari in Jalpaiguri, to ease travel woes of the people, was also discussed. Several divisional commissioners, DMs and SDOs of the seven North Bengal districts participated in the meeting.
