Div Commissioner's sim hacked, calls made to Europe, Africa

A mobile phone SIM card of a Divisional Commissioner was hacked and nearly a dozen of international calls were made to various countries of Europe and Africa in one night.
"I have a pre-paid SIM for personal use. On September 21 morning, I was shocked to see that my balance, which was Rs 1,400 the previous night, had reached zero," Divisional Commissioner of Allahabad Rajan Shukla told reporters today.
"Realising that it was a case of cyber crime, I immediately lodged a complaint with Kernalganj police station," he said.
A case has been registered against unidentified persons under relevant sections of the IPC and the Information Technology Act.

Investigation is on and efforts are being made to trace the hackers, Shukla said.
Call details have revealed that nearly a dozen calls were made on the intervening night of September 20 and September 21 to several numbers in Liberia, Somalia, Rwanda, Estonia and Lithuania, he said.
Needless to say, none of these numbers were dialled from my
handset, Shukla added.
