Three persons were arrested after more than 2 kg of hashish were seized from them by sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau's Kolkata unit, a senior official of the bureau said today.
Names of several influential personalities from the field of entertainment surfaced during questioning of the trio, NCB sources said.
The arrested persons including a DJ of a city pub were allegedly involved in a drug peddling racket, NCB's zonal director (East) Dilip Srivastava told PTI.
The NCB officials seized 2.450 kg hashish and one LSD blot paper during a raid late last night, he said.
The drug has a market value of around Rs 15 lakh.
Henry Lawrence Manna and Robert Dixon were picked up near Sealdah railway station, while DJ Nikhil Lakhwani was arrested from his home in southern part of the city.
"Nikhil works in a popular night club in Park Street area. He had planned to sell the drugs at night clubs during parties to celebrate the Christmas and New year. Nikhil was working in association with Robert," Srivastava said.
It was revealed during questioning that the drug was purchased from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh.
