Dr Pramod Kumar Misra was assaulted by Medical Officer of PHC Piwari, Dr Rahul Kumar along with his associates during a meeting of PHC employees yesterday, they said.
The assailants tried to force Misra into a car, they said, adding that he somehow freed himself and escaped on a motorcycle.
Rahul apparently wanted to take charge of PHC Mirechi forcefully, they said.
On Misra's complaint, an FIR has been registered against Rahul, Madanlal, Ranjeet, Rajoo and one other person, they said.
