Doctor, daughter run over by roadways bus

A doctor and his three-year-old daughter were run over by a Haryana Roadways bus while they were waiting for a school bus near Subhash Chowk at Sohna road this morning, police said.
Dr Pankaj Gupta, a cardiologist serving at super speciality hospital Medanta Medcity here, and his daughter were waiting for the school bus at the bus stop, opposite to Sadar Police station near Subhash Chowk, when the roadways bus ran over them.
According to police, while Dr Gupta died on the spot his daughter succumbed to her injuries during treatment at a hospital.
The accident happened as the driver was driving the bus in inebriated condition, and has been arrested, police said.

Before running over them, the driver had hit the bus with an electric pole but luckily, passengers sitting in the bus did not received any major injuries, they said.
