A 29-year-old resident doctor from a government hospital died in an accident on the J J flyover in south Mumbai early this morning.
Dr Tajindar Singh, resident doctor at the J J J Hospital, died after his bike rammed into the divider near Minara Masjid turning, police said.
Two-wheelers are prohibited on the J J Flyover.
Singh, who hailed from Jalandhar, Punjab, had gone to the Cama and Albles Hospital earlier in the night and was returning when the mishap took place at around 1.30 am.
He apparently lost control over the bike due to over-speeding, police said.
Pydhonie police took Singh to the J J Hospital where he died during treatment.
Dr Tatyarao Lahane, Dean of J J Hospital, said the doctors tried their best to save Singh, but he had suffered serious head injuries.
