Downpour brings relief for people in Coimbatore

Parts of the city today experienced moderate to heavy rains, bringing the mercury down giving relief to the people from the sweltering heat.
The city and nearby areas have started experiencing summer heat and it was at its peak yesterday.
However, there was sudden downpour in some parts of the city around 5.30 PM today which lasted for half an hour.
Traffic was disrupted at Ukkadam and Railway Station area, due to water logging.
Step are being taken to clear the water, to facilitate smooth flow of vehicles, police said.
