Dredging work in Damodar, Banka rivers to prevent flooding

The government would spend around Rs 2,000 crore for the purpose, the minister told reporters here.

He said the government would water 1 lakh acres of land for cultivating boro crops in the district.

The water, accumulated in abandoned mines in Asansol belt, will also be harnessed for farming purpose, he said.
