The value of the seized contraband in the "grey market" is over Rs one crore.
Officers of the DRI's Regional Unit at Vizag intercepted the lorry on highway near Sheelanagar area in the city and found nearly 1161 kgs of ganja, which was concealed under gravel in the vehicle.
"The lorry was carrying the contraband from the Visakhapatnam agency area to an unidentified destination via highway. The narcotic drug was found packed in 386 packages, each weighing around 3 Kg, and was hidden under a tarpaulin covered by gravel," stated a release issued by the DRI's Hyderabad Zonal Unit here today.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
