Delhi University aspirants will no longer have to appear for multiple tests to seek admission under the Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) category with the varsity deciding to conduct centralised trials for the same.

However, the centralised process will only be followed for trials for the sports quota and the centralised fitness test which was introduced last year will be done away with.

"The candidates will make a common application and the list of the sports available at respective colleges will be made available on the website."There was an observation by Delhi High Court in this regard that the performance of the students is affected when they have to appear for multiple trials," said CS Dubey, chairman of DU's sports council.

"The trials will be centralised and the university will allocate the task of conducting the trial of different sports to different colleges," he added.

For the first time, the trials for the ECA admissions will also be centralised and on the pattern of sports admissions, the university will alot the task of holding the trial for a particular activity in a certain college and the scores will be valid for all the colleges admitting students under the quota.

According to the university's existing guidelines, the colleges are allowed to admit up to five per cent of its students under the sports and ECA quota.
