Dudi demands banning of Bajrang Dal, VHP

Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly, Rameshwar Dudi today demanded ban on the Bajrang Dal and the VHP accusing them of trying to fuel communal tension in the state in the name of cow protection.
On the Alwar lynching case, he said, "People belonging to the minority communities rear cows in various parts of the state. But organisations like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal want to decide on the basis of religion that who will rear cows, which is unacceptable."
These outfits are trying to fuel communal tension and spread terror in the name of cow protection. These organisations should be banned, Dudi said.

"State Congress president Sachin Pilot had demanded a CBI inquiry in the matter and we will raise the issue in the state Assembly," he said in a press conference here.
Earlier this month, a 55-year-old man died at a hospital in Alwar district after allegedly being beaten by a group of cow vigilantes.
The deceased, Pehlu Khan, and four others, including his two sons, were beaten brutally by some locals at Behror who suspected they were smuggling cows.

Dudi also demanded that the Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh should resign after the Supreme Court verdict in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

He said that article 361 of the constitution has provision that the Governor cannot be tried for criminal and civil cases.
"Morally, he should resign or the President should impeach the Governor," he added.
The Supreme Court yesterday allowed the CBI's plea to restore criminal conspiracy charge against top BJP leaders L K Advani, M M Joshi and Uma Bharti in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
The apex court, however, noted that Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh enjoys Constitutional immunity and can be tried only after he ceases to hold the office. Kalyan Singh was the chief minister of UP in 1992.
