Members of the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) today staged a sit-in protest outside the VC Yogesh K Tyagi's residence over their several demands.
The teachers wanted to raise with the VC the issues related to pensions, non-confirmation of jobs for teachers, alleged tampering of service conditions among others.
"The issues are piling up, but the VC has not heard us for the past one year," said Rajesh Jha, a professor and council member.
The DUTA said the protest will continue unless the VC gives them time for resolution of their problems.
Though, the protest was scheduled at VC's office, the venue was later shifted to his residence.
"Neither VC nor his other representatives were available in office. So we had to go to his official residence," Surendra Kumar, professor and general secretary of India National Teachers Congress said.
