During his visit, he was apprised about the progress of construction work besides administrative setup that had recently been shifted there.
He was also apprised about the immediate requirement of electricity, water and roads for the campus for shifting of six academic departments from temporary campus, Sainik Colony to the upcoming Campus.
The Deputy chief Minister lauded the fast pace of the construction work and the functioning of the university, particularly the running of 12 postgraduate (PG) and eight research programmes within a short span of three years.
Deputy Chief Minister also asked the varsity authorities to monitor the construction work regularly. He stressed the need to pay special attention on quality of work. He also asked to follow the guidelines for selecting the faculty of various departments.
Earlier, the VC introduced the deans, heads of the departments and other senior officials of the university to the Deputy CM.
The VC said that shortly six academic departments would be shifted to the upcoming campus from the temporary academic block. He also submitted proposals for the establishment of Kendriya Vidalaya in the campus.
