'Economic welfare of backward areas priority of J-K Govt'

The economic welfare of far-flung and backward areas is the top priority of the Jammu and Kashmir government, a state minister said today.
Special schemes to uplift the rural and backward areas initiated by the NC-Congress government have started yielding positive results, Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan sad in a public meeting Rajouri district.
The government's priority is to upgrade communication, education and health cover in such areas and extend assistance to help generate economic activities and giving fillip to education and health care facilities, he said.
