"An effort has been made to fulfill all the poll promises," he said after presenting the annual budget for the current financial year.

Yadav said no new tax has been proposed in the budget and efforts would be made to increase recovery by the departments.

Accusing the previous BSP government of wasting public money, "The previous government wasted state's money. No provision has been made for statues, memorials and stones at a single place (in the budget). All provisions have been made for youths, farmers so that UP marches ahead on the path of prosperity."

Akhilesh said several decisions have been taken in the interests of the farmers, including loan wavier, laptops and tablets, unemployment allowance and girl education, besides efforts to improve roads and power infrastructure.

Accusing the previous government of failing to deliver on the power front, Akhilesh said power generation did not increase "by a single mega watt" and only the plants set up during previous SP regime were providing electricity.

He said his government will do everything required to improve the situation of electricity in the state.

On the agriculture front, the CM said efforts will be made to provide relief to farmers and ensure timely availability of fertilisers and seeds.

"Last time the farmers had to face batons for fertilisers. Efforts will be made to ensure availability in advance," he said.

The CM said that a provision of Rs 500 crore for the loan waiver, as announced by the party earlier, has been made and it would be started from nationalised banks.

On promoting information technology in the state, Yadav said a PPP model would be adopted for the purpose and the government will provide all necessary facilities.

He said checking the outbreak of encephalitis in Gorakhpur and adjacent east UP districts is also high on his government's agenda.
