The arrested have been identified as Satish Joshi, Sanjay Dhir, Bacchu Singh, Monu, Raju, Nandu, Krishan Kumar and Sudesh Choudhary.
While Sudesh was arrested on charges of sodomy, Nandu and Raju were held for smuggling liquor, police said.
Bacchu was arrested from sector 42 park after a brief encounter and a country made pistol was recovered from his possession, they said.
Krishan was a wanted criminal, while Satish, Sanjay and Monu were petty thieves.
