EL James earned nearly 44 million pounds for 'Fifty Shades'

EL James has become one of the wealthiest authors in Britain thanks to her erotic 'Fifty Shades' novels which earned nearly 44 million pounds last year.
The 51-year-old is raking in over 100,000 pounds a day from the book series, which has been turned into a Hollywood film starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, reported Daily Express quouting the Sun.
Since the first book in the trilogy was released in 2011 the series has shifted more than 100 million copies and made James, real name Erika Leonard, the fifth richest British author.
Accounts filed at Companies House show James' business Fifty Shades Limited made 43,910,466 in the 12 months to September 30, 2013 - with pre-tax profits of 33 million pounds.
However, the list of the richest authors is led by 'Harry Potter' writer JK Rowling whose personal fortune is at 570 million pounds.
