Electors to get discount for voting in LS polls in tricity

To encourage people to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, several restaurants, fitness zones and hotels in tricity of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali are offering a range of discounts for exercising their franchise.
"Voters can avail discounts after showing their inked finger as a proof of voting for the next three days," said Jaiprakash Singh Hasrajani, Chairperson of CII Yi (Chandigarh Tricity Chapter) here today.
He said voters can avail of discounts in Chandigarh and Panchkula (Haryana) for next three days from April 11 to 13, as elections in these places are on April 10.
While in Mohali (Punjab), which goes to polls on April 30, people can avail of discounts from May 1 till May 3.
"This decision has been taken to increase the participation of the voter through a radical approach of incentivizing voting and simultaneously, encouraging voters to research their candidates and take an informed decision on voting," he said.
CII-Young Indians (Yi) Chandigarh Tricity Chapter has named this campaign 'Show the ink, See prices sink'.
Till now, Hasrajani said, businesses like Nik Baker's, Body Zone Fitness and Spa, Affinity Saloon, Whistling Duck, Sangha Motorcraft, Bake House, Toy Hotel, Chocodate, Gusto cafe, Gourmet cafe, Park view have come on board.
