The Tashildar, Murugesan was caught red handed by Vigilence and Anti Corruption wing yesterday here while he was accepting Rs two lakh bribe from a person.
The accused official who has been arrested was remanded to judicial custody.
In the wake of the arrest of Murugesan, the offcials searched his residence where they seized Rs 2.35 lakh.
The Union members have been alleging that the Deputy Collector has been forcing his subordinates to collect bribe and transfer the booty to him.
