Second-year student Shahnawaz Alam Ansari (21), a resident of Azadnagar Road here, along with his friend Mohsin Ahmed were on their way to RVS Engineering College on a motorcycle when the incident took place, police said.
They were about to negotiate a turn when a speeding truck coming from the rear dashed them, killing Shahnawaz on the spot.
Mohsin, who sustained injury, was rushed to M G M Hospital. The truck driver along with the vehicle managed to escape after the incident, sources said.
