Assistant Engineer Ajit Kumar Himanghsu and junior engineer Jai Prakash Nirala of MGNREGA project of Barhi block were arrested by a vigilance team.
The team members, headed by Deputy Superintendent (Vigilance) Charanvas Tirkey, caught the two red handed while each was allegedly accepting Rs 5000 from a contractor, Sanjay Sao, for clearing his bill of Rs 4.64 lakh, the sources said.
The amount of the contractor was pending from November 2012, the sources said, adding a trap had been laid on the basis of Sao's complaint.
