The Haryana government today directed the administrative heads to ensure implemetation of its order that the applicants should not be asked for affidavits and certificates attested by gazetted officers by the staff for delivery of services.
The direction came following complaints that ground level staff not were following instructions, issued in March 2014 and August 2016, and have been demanding affidavits and copies of certificates attested by gazetted officers.
The General Administration department on March 3, 2014, and August 22, 2016 had directed government departments and organisations not to ask for affidavit for delivery of services, except if required by law or statutory rules, an official spokesperson said.
However, there were complaints that ground level officials were not following the instructions and have been demanding affidavits and copies of certificates attested by gazetted officers, he added.
Applicants do not have to attach attested copies of their documents or certificates--like marksheets or date of birth certificate--while applying for jobs in a government organisation or taking admissions in educational institutions.
"They have to submit self-attested documents and certificates and later produce the original documents at the final stage," he added.
Divisional Commissioners have been asked to direct Deputy Commissioners to get monthly confirmations in grievance meetings whether officials are complying with the instructions or not, he added.
