A solution has to be found for management of limited resources to ensure rapid growth without jeopardizing health of people and future of the planet, the chief minister told the Odisha Environment Congress-2012.
Referring to thermal power projects in the state, the chief minister said that Odisha was focusing on small and medium projects besides non-conventional sources of energy.
The state was also trying to reduce the transmission and distribution loss in order to conserve energy, he said.
Forest and Environment minister Bijayshree Routaray said that with the leadership of UN Secretary-General Ban Kimoon, UN Energy, a coordinating group of 20 UN agencies, was undertaking a new global initiative, sustainable energy for all.
