Minister for Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra, introduced the Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Employees' Provident Funds (and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1961.
The Bill seeks a change allowing employees to use their discretion to increase contributions under EPF Scheme to up to 14 per cent.
Another Bill, introduced by Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather, seeks enhancement of the time limit for the Empowerment Committee constituted for regularisation of contractual/ad hoc/consolidated employees in the state.
This Bill envisages a relaxation in the provisions for women who want to apply for recruitment post marriage.
Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo introduced the last of the four Bills, which aims at consolidating and amending laws related to the constitution of one or more Juvenile Justice Boards in the state for the proper care and protection of minors.
