Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and seized ephedrine worth Rs 20 lakh from him in suburban Jogeshwari, an official said.
Ephedrine, though a constituent of some medicines, is also misused by drug addicts.
Mohammed Nadim Shafique Khan was arrested by a team led by 'encounter specialist' Assistant Police Inspector Daya Nayak in Jogeshwari area last night, the official said.
Acting on a tip-off, the team nabbed Khan who was seen moving around in a suspicious manner, and found that he was carrying five kg of ephedrine, police said.
Interrogation revealed that Khan was allegedly going to deliver the drugs to some peddlers.
He was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
