Ex-Medical Officer sent to 5 years in jail for taking bribe

A former Medical Officer posted at a Community Health Centre at Julana in the district was sentenced to four years in jail by a local court here for taking bribe.
A fine of Rs 7,000 was also imposed on Sanjiv Deshwal by District and Sessions Court Judge Kanchan Mahi who also awarded an additional jail term of one month if the fine was not submitted.
In 2013, one Sunil complained to the Vigilance department against Sanjiv Deshwal of demanding a bribe of Rs 3,000 for a Medical-Legal Report following which the medical officer was arrested red handed.
