F1 in Schools challenge gets India winners

Three schools will represent India in the world finale of the F1 in Schools challenge, an initiative in which students come up with miniature versions of racing cars and make them run on a 24-metre track.

Each team had 3-6 members working on the best possible design for the minimum friction of the car and setting up their pit-booth. The F1 kits provided to the students are directed from the Formula One Headquarters in UK, the organisers said in a press release.

Orion Racing, Scottish High International School (Gurgaon 2), Matadors, Amity International School (Saket), and Stallion, The British School (New Delhi) were the winning schools from the Indian leg.

The teams will representing India at the World Finals in November this year where teams from 49 countries will compete for the title, slated to take place at Abu Dhabi.
