A police officer said the accused Md Shahid was a resident of Bablatala in Kaikhali area, in the northern outskirts of the city and close to the N S C B International airport.
The source of the counterfeit notes and if he was a courier and got down from any international flight was looked into, the officer said.
Sahid will be produced in Barasat court tomorrow.
