Disney executives are turning the iconic 'Night on Bald Mountain' sequence from classic animated film "Fantasia" into a live-action movie.
The section from the 1940 film centres on a dark winged create who raises spirits from the dead, and it flies through the air enjoying a night of mayhem until the sun begins to rise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the original film, which was comprised of eight animated sequences set to pieces of classical music, Night on Bald Mountain's score was composed by Russian artist Modest Mussorgsky in 1867 and arranged by Leopold Stokowski for the movie.
Writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have been tapped to pen the script for the new movie, and the duo is also executive producing the project.
