Fazal, Satish hit centuries as Vidarbha reach 352/3 on day one

Riding on centuries by Faiz Fazal (107) and Ganesh Satish (167), Vidarbha reached 352 for three against Saurashtra on the first day of their Ranji Trophy Group B cricket match here today.
Opting to bat, Vidarbha lost opener Sachin Katariya (7) early, but other opening batsman Fazal joined hands with one-down Satish to lay a solid platform.
The duo shared a massive 217-run partnership for the second wicket to give Vidarbha an upper hand.
Off-spinner Kamlesh Makvana finally gave Saurashtra the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Fazal with the Vidarbha scorecard reading a superb 231 for two.
Fazal's knock came off 179 balls, studded with 13 boundaries and a six.

But Fazal's dismissal did not disturb Satish's concentration at all and he went on to share another 114-run stand with skipper S Badrinath for the third wicket.

However, just before the end of the day's play, Ganesh's brilliant innings off 231 balls that included 16 fours and two sixes, came to an end.
At stumps, Badrinath was batting on 62, while giving him company at the other end was Shalabh Shrivastava on four.
