Fed up with harrassment, womans stabs husband to death

A 42-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death at their house in Nallakunta area here in the wee hours today after being unable to bear the repeated "mental and physical harrassment" meted out to her, police said.
After stabbing her husband Gangadhar in the abdomen while he was sleeping around 3 AM, Vijay Lakshmi, surrendered before police with the knife and was placed under arrest on charge of murder, Nallakunta Police Station Inspector S Santosh Kumar said.
"The couple, who are natives of Nizamabad district of Telangana had shifted to Hyderabad 10 years ago. They had two daughters who were married," the Inspector said.

Vijay Lakshmi, was working in a private college, but her husband Gangadhar, who was not working used to regularly "harrass her mentally and physically and beat up her in an drunken state suspecting her fidelity", the police officer said based on preliminary investigation.
