The last day for filing nominations is December 29, scrutiny would take place onDecember 30 and elections would be held in a single phase on January 10, 2015, officials said.

The Local urban bodies polls are not been contested on party basis, but both BJP and Congress have announced their candidates and released the lists for municipal polls.
In 2010, direct elections were held for the post of president of Municipal bodies but this time the elections would be held indirectly and councillors would elect the president.
