FIR lodged against WB Congress chief Adhir Chowdhury

An FIR has been lodged against West Bengal Congress chief Adhir Chowdhury for verbally abusing the District Magistrate at a public meeting here in Murshidabad district on November 14.
The FIR was lodged against him by the police at Berhampore police station last night, a senior official said.
Chowdhury had allegedly targeted district magistrate Y Ratanakar Rao at the November 14 public meeting.
He called him names for being close to the ruling party and helping it to rope in Congress and other non-TMC members of the Zilla Parishad in the district, which was Chowdhury's stronghold.
