"The fire broke out at 220 KV grid sub station because of fault at 11 KV feeders and it slowly spread to whole power station," an official of state transmission corporation limited said.
Though there was no human loss in the inferno, power transmission equipments, including two transformers 132/11 KV each and control room worth Rs 5 crore, were gutted in the fire, another official said.
The fire caused massive damage to power equipments and power supply can be restored only by tomorrow, he said.
"Power supply has been disrupted in 50-60 per cent of power connections in Moga and surrounding villages which are in the radius on 15-20 km," the official said.
