First batch of Tata Steel-run ITI secures placements

The first batch of 14 students, post successful completion of one-year course on mason training at the Tata Steel-run ITI, Tamar, near Ranchi, has secured placements in various companies from across Jharkhand including Ranchi.
According to a company release, the placement package ranges from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,800 per month.
The first batch of the one-year course on mason training started April last year and completed this March. The average salary the trainees, all from the state, confirmed to the minimum wage standard set by the state government for skilled worker category (building construction), it said.
New batches for Fitter (Mechanic), Electrician and Turner trainings will be launched in August this year. Tata Steel collaborated with the state government to set up Tata Steel Skill Development Society Private ITI, Tamar in 2012.
The Institute, situated at Salgadih, Tamar, offers courses in various trades like fitter, electrician, turner and mason (building construction) and the courses were conducted by Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF).
