First-time MLAs to undergo training in Delhi: HP speaker

All 23 first-time MLAs of Himachal Pradesh would undergo a two-day training programme on parliamentary system of the country on February 7 and 8 at Parliament, Assembly Speaker Rajiv Bindal said today.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, four Union Ministers, four senior MPs and two officers from Parliament secretariat, who would guide the newly-elected MLAs, he said.
Bindal stressed that the focus of MLAs should be more on legislative business and appealed to all Assembly members to make it a priority so that the House is able to give its best to the state.
He would attend a Speakers' conference at Patna in Bihar from February 16 to 18.
