Fishing boat missing off Alapuzha; Navy, CG launch search

A boat with four fishermen has been reported missing off the coast here and the Navy has deployed a helicopter for search operations.
The vessel is suspected to have capsized near Vatakkal, south of Alapuzha harbour this morning, initial reports said.
Police said the Coast Guard and Navy have been informed and that a naval helicopter had already begun search operations in an area three miles off Alapuzha.
The Coast Guard is also involved in search operations.
The sea is very rough and it is unlikely that local fishermen could have put out to sea, the sources said.
Naval sources said a helicopter had been deployed from Kochi to help in the search operations.
