Five arrested in gang-rape case

Police today arrested five men for allegedly raping two women at Adas vilage of the district, officials said.
"Police have arrested five persons today who raped two women on June 6 in Adas village in Vasad tehsil," inspector M V Garasiya of Khmbholaj police station said.
The accused were identified as Mansoor Rahatkhan Rathod (20), Shakilkhan Pyaresahab Rathod (21), Imtiyazkhan Gulubha Rathod (20), Rizwankhan Salimkhan Rathod (19) and Sanjaykhan Munavvarkhan Rathod (24).
Both the victims hailed from Uttar Pradesh, and were daily wagers, he said.
Two days ago the accused trespassed into their houses near a brick kiln and asked the two families to leave the place.

While the menfolk were beaten up, the women, one of them 18 years old, were gang-raped.
The victims approached the police late last night.
