girls, drowned in two separate incidents in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.
In one incident, three children-- two girls and a boy- drowned in a village water tank near Attili. Their bodies were fished out later by divers, Babu, Inspector of Police, Tanuku said.
The trio were identified as Pavani (6), Durga (9) and Manikanta (7). The children had come to their grandparents' house to celebrate Sankranthi festival and were playing near the tank when they accidentally fell into it last evening following which a missing complaint was filed, police said.
They were recovered this morning. A case was filed and investigations are underway.
The bodies were fished out and handed over to their parents, police added.
