The tyre-laden truck was being driven by one of the five accused when Indore cops intercepted them at Kishanganj late last night, Additional SP (Rural) Padmavilochan Shukla told PTI.
The accused were identified as Karan, Babloo, Naushad, Islam and Farooq, the ADSP said, adding that two gang leaders Jittu and Ayoob, were yet to be arrested.
Those taken into custody have allegedly confessed their involvement in the robbery and murder of truck driver Ramchandra Yadav, who hailed from Bihar.
The truck was carrying a consignment of 230 Apollo tyres from a transport company in Gujarat to Indore when the gang allegedly hijacked it on Dhar road on June 24.
Yadav's body was later found at Kalaria, 12 kms from here, he added.
