Traders affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Vanikar Sangankalin Peramaippu, a federation of various associations, converged at suburban Vandalur where a day-long conference is scheduled.
President of the federation, A M Vikrama Raja, had earlier said that five lakh members were expected to attend the conference.
Issues pertaining to traders will be discussed in the day-long conference, an annual event held by the federation.
