Superintendent of Police (Rural) Praveen Ranjan said the house belonging to one Vijaypal Prajapti (50) collapsed this morning due to rain.
Besides, Vijaypal and his daughter-in-law Suman (26), his three grandchildren Mayank (3), Khushi (5), and Durjan (7) died in the incident, he said.
Vijaypal's son Narendra was hospitalised in a serious condition while other injured were discharged after first aid.
District Magistrate Pankaj Yadav said the kin of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh under the disaster and farmers insurance schemes.
