Five persons, including a woman and her three children, received serious burn injuries after a cooking gas cylinder caught fire and exploded in Bihar's Nalanda district today, police said.
The incident occurred at Tetrawan village under the jurisdiction of Maanpur police station of the district, the police said.
The woman, after suspecting that gas was leaking from a cylinder, had asked her neighbour to find out the spot from where the gas was leaking, Biharsharif Circle Officer Sunil Kumar Verma said, adding that the gas cylinder exploded when the neighbour lit up a match to find out the exact spot from where the gas was leaking.
All the injured were admitted to Biharsharif Sadar hospital, he said.
Later, they were referred to a hospital in Patna, he added.
