Rakhi was playing with her elder sister Reena in the courtyard of her home in Silaus village of the district this afternoon when the leopard suddenly crept in and dragged her away, they said.
Rakhi's elder sister ran inside the house to save herself, they said.
Villagers raised an alarm and began a search for the girl whose half-eaten body was found lying in the bushes some distance away from the village, police said, adding that the incident has struck fear among residents.
Another woman in a village of the same development block had been attacked and injured by a leopard ten days ago.
