"Rains are likely to hit the capital by the end of this month. Ensure that there is not silt or floating material in the drains falling under the corporation's jurisdiction," NDMC Commissioner Praveen Kumar Gupta said.
He also directed that all drains be cleaned for proper outfall and covered so that the floating material does not hamper the outfall, so as to prevent water logging like situation in the capital.
Lesser number of mosquito-breeding points have been found this year in comparison to the previous years, it said.
While inspecting a municipal primary school in Rithala village, the commissioner directed the officials concerned to develop a playground on the vacant land lying in the school premises, and also ordered for repair of desks there.
